BOTOX® Cosmetic and XEOMIN® Cosmetic

As you know, wrinkles are some of the earliest signs of facial aging. They can give away your age and make you look angry or tired, no matter how happy, young, or energetic you may feel inside. Instead of just accepting your wrinkles, you can smooth them out with Botox Cosmetic or Xeomin Cosmetic.

The physicians at Healthy Skin Centre have extensive experience performing Botox and Xeomin Cosmetic treatments. We will give you a natural, more youthful look while preserving your freedom of expression. You will not “look frozen” or “worked-on” like so many Hollywood actors and actresses.

With Botox and Xeomin, we can do any of the following

  • Reduce frown lines between the eyebrows, also called glabellar lines or “11s”
  • Reduce crow’s feet around the outer corners of the eyes
  • Soften forehead lines
  • Perform non-surgical brow lift
  • Correct a gummy smile
  • Soften bunny lines (lines on the nose)
  • Alleviate pain from grinding teeth
  • Reduce the appearance of neck bands (platysmal bands)
  • Decrease the size of enlarged masseter muscles which gives the appearance of a squared jawline

How does BOTOX work?

Botox and Xeomin correct wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscle that causes them to form. Though the procedure only takes a few minutes (many people come during their lunch break!) it takes some time for the results to fully show. Most people see an initial reduction in their wrinkles within five to seven days, with maximal improvement by two weeks.

Are BOTOX injections safe?

Botox and Xeomin have been used for over 30 years in both children and adults with muscle spasms. Botox and Xeomin treatments are safe and effective. In fact, Botox is used in over 70 countries and is the most popular cosmetic procedure in Vancouver, in Canada and the world!

Botox® and Xeomin® FAQs

Botox® is most frequently used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet which are the wrinkles found on the outside corners of the eyes.

Women who are who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have Botox® treatment. Women and men who have neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis or myasthenia gravis should not use Botox®.

What are the possible side effects and complications of Botox® injections?

The most common side effect of Botox® treatment is temporary bruising. Ice is used during the procedure to prevent this from occurring. A very small percentage of patients (less than 1%) develop eyelid drooping. This is caused by migration of Botox® from the treated area to an adjacent area. This is why you shouldn’t rub the treated area for at least twelve hours after your Botox® procedure. A special eye drop is available to reverse the drooping instantaneously, should it occur.
