Cellulite Reduction – Mesotherapy

What it is and What Happens During the Procedure?

Mesotherapy is a series of injections formulated of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and homeopathic remedies which are injected into the skin between the dermis and subcutaneous layers of skin known as the mesoderm. It targets the superficial layers of skin to promote the body’s circulatory, lymphatic and immune system and, in turn, reduce the appearance of cellulite. A strong local anaesthetic cream is used to minimise discomfort, along with cold ice compresses.

Who is a Suitable Candidate for Mesotherapy?

Most healthy adults ages 18 to 80 may have Mesotherapy for body sculpting, cellulite treatment and skin rejuvenation. However, each patient must be individually assessed to determine whether or not Mesotherapy is the best form of treatment to achieve the results they seek.

Is Mesotherapy Safe?

This procedure has been performed safely around the world since the 1950s, and has become increasingly popular today.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is localised fat that appears as dimpling on the thighs, bottom, legs and arms. It affects the majority of women over the age of 30, and being overweight is not a cause. In fact, many people with cellulite are slim and exercise regularly. Cellulite is due to a combination of poor micro-circulation close to the skin’s surface, fat hibernation’s, and abnormal connective tissue.

Each session takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated. You will require 6-12 sessions, 2-4 weeks apart, for best results.

How Fast Will a Patient See Results?

Will the Results Last?

Therefore it’s wise to have maintenance treatments at the rate of approximately one session every two (2) to three (3) months. Bruising is common, but will generally disappear after a week and can usually be covered by clothing. A rare side effect of Mesotherapy is nodules under the skin – in the form of small, pea-like lumps. Usually only noticeable by touch, they are not serious and will dissolve in a few weeks or months.
